In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

 

To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:

 

Site Services Supervisor 

The Site Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities at the facility, ensuring that equipment, infrastructure, and systems are operating efficiently and safely. The role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating repairs, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

 

Key Responsibilities 

 Supervision & Team Management

  • Site Service supervisor must be able to Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of maintenance staff
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure quality work
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to technicians and tradesmen
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures

 Maintenance Operations

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment in water treatment, sewage systems, and facility infrastructure
  • Coordinate corrective and emergency maintenance work
  • Inspect completed work to ensure standards are met

 Preventive Maintenance Planning

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements
  • Maintain maintenance records, logs, and reports
  • Reduce downtime through proactive maintenance strategies

 Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce workplace health and safety regulations
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory standards
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments

 Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

  • Diagnose complex maintenance issues and coordinate repairs
  • Ensure timely resolution of faults to minimize operational disruption
  • Liaise with contractors and external service providers when required

 Inventory & Resource Management

  • Monitor and control maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts
  • Ensure availability of necessary materials and supplies
  • Assist in budgeting and cost control for maintenance activities

 Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and submit maintenance reports to management
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and other departments
  • Participate in planning and operational meetings



     

    Qualifications/Skills and Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Technical certification or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or related field
    • Supervisory or leadership training is an asset.
    • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance operations.
    • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, Industrial or facility maintenance practices.
    • Knowledge of Water treatment and sewage systems (preferred).
    • Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
    • Minimum 3–5 years’ hands-on maintenance experience in industrial or commercial environments
    • Experience supervising teams and coordinating maintenance work
    • Proven ability to manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs
    • Experience working under pressure and handling emergency repairs

    Working Conditions

    • Position based at the OKO Project site. 
    • Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
    • Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
