Teacher Grade III (Music)

      Role Summary  

To enhance and create a learning/teaching environment that fosters to the development of each student. The environment that strengthens the intellectual, social, emotional and psychological welfare of each student. To utilise various strategies to facilitate learning.

Role Responsibilities

1. Deliver high-quality instruction in Business to students from Grades 7–12.
2. Teach Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Business courses in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.
3. Develop, prepare, and effectively implement daily lesson plans that support student learning and achievement.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date academic records, including attendance, assessments, and student performance data.
5. Establish, communicate, and uphold appropriate standards of student behaviour to foster a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
6. Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, students, guidance counsellors, school administrators, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and welfare.
7. Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events, and assist with the planning and execution of school programmes as required.
8.  Complete a minimum of 60 Essential Learning Hours annually to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
9. Performs any other duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officers in order to contribute to the 
   effectiveness and efficiency of the Ministry.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in the specific discipline along with a Teacher’s Certificate in Education.
• Three (3) years teaching experience

• Excellent knowledge of modern teaching strategies and techniques
• Excellent knowledge of Education Act, Public Service Management Code and other regulations
• Expert knowledge of Curriculum
• Expert knowledge of classroom management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Sound knowledge of the use of standard office equipment and current computer applications and software
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Sound knowledge of CPR
• Ability to work well under pressure and work as a team
• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Excellent knowledge of how children learn
