Responsible for creating developing and executing the true to life, in store visual representation of our brand. This position will coordinate with the merchant, creative services, planning, operations and retail development to conceptualize, establish and deliver visual merchandising guidelines for both retail stores and wholesale accounts, designed to meet the sales and profitability goals
The Visual Merchandising Director is responsible for articulating and executing creative vision, visual window concepts and installations for boutiques and showrooms ensuring a stimulating environment that enhances the customer store experience and promotes brand consistency.
Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
The role is in charge of supervising the team in upholding VM standards, guidelines as well as developing local relevant strategies in all locations (retail, partner stores and wholesale partners) across the global market through overseeing all VM initiatives related to existing store needs, campaign launches, special events and new store openings.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement visual strategy for the European market
- Plan all visual merchandising projects in the market
- Train and coach visual team
- Manage department budget
- Supervise and support retail events
- Meet with operational team to implement sales strategies
- Conduct research on current and future trends in design and lifestyle, and associated target market features
- Forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
Requirements
~1 min read- At least 10+ years of experience in the VM field for a fashion brand
- At least 5-6 years of experience in leading a team
- Excellent knowledge of visual merchandising strategies and processes
- Excellent knowledge of Guess products and DNA
- Must possess strong leadership skills and be well organized, self-motivated, focused on meeting deadlines and able to multitask within a fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group at all level
- Ability to work in an international environment and to network with worldwide business units
- Demonstrated ability to support and interact effectively with other core business functions
- Availability to travel
- Excellent knowledge of Office package, especially Excel
- Proficiency knowledge of English language – both written and spoken. Any additional language is a plus
