Research Assistant (Department of Clinical Genetics) - Hong Kong Children’s Hospital

Key Responsibilities:

1.       To facilitate and support the Hong Kong Genome project in Hong Kong Children’s Hospital.

2.       To provide clerical and administrative support to support the daily operation of the team.

3.   To assist in recruitment of potential patients and to ensure patients have all the necessary information to give fully informed consent.

4.       To collect, edit and analysis clinical data in collaboration with other team members.

5.       To handle enquiries, liaise and communicate with staff and public.

6.       To perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements:

1.     University Graduates with experience; OR

2.     F.5 / S.5 with

(a)      Passes in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination   including English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language, or equivalent.

OR

(b)      5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education attaining the level specified below:

l   Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language; and

l   Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects/ "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects under this category)/ Grade E in Other Language subjects; or equivalent.

AND diploma in a specialized function AND relevant experience.

Preferably Attributes / Exposure:

1.    Experience in clinical research related to genetics, analysis of biostatistics using research tools.

2.    Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

3.    Good interpersonal and communication skills.

4.    Be responsible, self-motivated and able to work independently.
