EngineeringQa Engineer

Hard Rock Digital is a team focused on becoming the best online sportsbook, casino, and social gaming company in the world. We’re building a team that resonates passion for learning, operating, and building new products and technologies for millions of consumers. We care about each customer interaction, experience, behavior, and insight and strive to ensure we’re always acting authentically.

Rooted in the kindred spirits of Hard Rock and the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Hard Rock Digital taps a brand known the world over as the leader in gaming, entertainment, and hospitality. We’re taking that foundation of success and bringing it to the digital space — ready to join us?

We're looking for a Senior Salesforce Test Automation Engineer to own quality engineering across our Salesforce platform. This is a hands-on technical role — you'll design and build the automation frameworks our team relies on, partner closely with developers from the earliest stages of delivery, and set the quality bar for a platform that powers customer-facing operations across iGaming markets in North America and beyond.

You'll work within an Agile, Kanban-driven team and operate across Salesforce Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Data Cloud, Agentforce, and a rich ecosystem of third-party integrations including Snowflake, Confluent Kafka, and identity/payments vendors. This isn't a seat-warmer QA role — we want someone who thinks in systems, writes production-quality automation code, and treats testability as a first-class engineering concern.

Responsibilities

  • Own test automation strategy and execution across Salesforce environments — Classic, Lightning, and complex third-party integrations — selecting and evolving the right tools and frameworks for our stack.

  • Design and build automated test suites using tools such as Playwright, Copado Robot Testing, simple-salesforce, Behave, or similar frameworks, and integrate them into our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / ArgoCD).

  • Lead regression, smoke, functional, UAT, integration, and performance testing for Salesforce customizations including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and Flow automation.

  • Shift left on quality — engage with requirements and design sessions early, challenge assumptions, and flag risks before they reach development.

  • Champion testability in code reviews, providing structured feedback on Apex, LWC, and integration code with quality and coverage in mind.

  • Validate data integrity across the platform, including Salesforce records, reports, dashboards, Data Cloud pipelines, and inbound/outbound integration payloads.

  • Log, triage, and track defects end-to-end in Jira, maintaining clear reproduction steps and working collaboratively with developers through resolution.

  • Define and maintain test documentation standards — test plans, test cases, automation scripts, coverage matrices, and results reports.

  • Mentor and guide junior QA contributors and developers on automation best practices, test design patterns, and quality-first thinking.

  • Stay current with Salesforce releases (3x per year), evaluate new features and deprecations for test impact, and recommend improvements proactively.

You’ll be joining a lean, technically sharp team that takes its craft seriously. We’re building infrastructure that directly impacts customers in real regulated markets, so the work matters — and so does how it’s done. We move fast but we’re deliberate, and quality engineering is treated as a genuine competitive advantage here, not an afterthought.

  • 5+ years of QA/test engineering experience, with a significant portion focused on Salesforce platforms in production environments.

  • Deep Salesforce platform knowledge — hands-on experience testing Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Apex triggers and classes, Visualforce pages, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and platform events.

  • Strong automation engineering skills — you write clean, maintainable test code. Proficiency in Python is expected; experience with Playwright, Copado Robot Testing, or comparable Salesforce-aware frameworks is a strong plus.

  • CI/CD fluency — comfortable integrating automated tests into GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD-based pipelines, and iterating on pipeline configuration.

  • Integration testing experience — ability to design and execute tests across REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven architectures (Kafka/Confluent), and data pipelines (Snowflake or similar warehouses).

  • Jira proficiency — experience in defect lifecycle management, sprint hygiene, and working within structured Agile/Kanban workflows.

  • Strong analytical instincts and the ability to translate ambiguous requirements into rigorous, actionable test strategies.

  • Clear, direct communication skills — you can articulate risk, coverage gaps, and quality decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Collaborative by nature — comfortable working across development, product, and platform teams, and willing to push back constructively when quality is at risk.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in regulated iGaming, fintech, or similarly compliance-sensitive environments (AGCO/iGO, AML/KYC workflows, or similar).

  • Familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud, Agentforce, or Einstein features and their testing considerations.

  • Exposure to sensitive data handling, masking, or PII/PCI compliance testing in Salesforce contexts.

  • Salesforce certification (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer I, or equivalent) is a plus but not required.

  • Experience with Gearset or other Salesforce DevOps tooling.

We offer our employees more than just competitive compensation. Our team benefits include:

  • Competitive pay and benefits

  • Flexible vacation allowance

  • A hybrid / remote working environment

  • Startup culture backed by a secure, global brand

We care deeply about every interaction our customers have with us, and trust and empower our staff to own and drive their experience. Our vision for our business and customers is built on fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where regardless of background or beliefs you feel able to be authentic and bring all your talent into play. We want to celebrate you being you (we are an equal opportunity employer).
