Responsibilities

  • Maintain Product Catalog Data Accuracy. Serve as the data steward for IDC's product catalog, keeping product records, metadata, descriptions, and attributes current and consistent across internal systems. Implement approved product additions, changes, and retirements as directed by Product Management, and ensure ongoing catalog integrity through regular audits and reconciliation.
  • Own the Product Management System (PMS). Serve as the business owner for IDC's Product Management System and related systems of record for product data. Partner with IT to configure and maintain these platforms, including defining business requirements and translating operational needs into clear system specifications that are handed off to IT for implementation. This role will serve as the business lead on any new IT systems projects, representing the needs of Product Operations and cross-functional stakeholders throughout evaluation, requirements gathering, and rollout.
  • Maintain Product Taxonomy & SKU Structure. Own and maintain the hierarchical framework used to classify IDC's products (category, subcategory, product type, etc.), making decisions on when to add, retire, or restructure as the portfolio evolves. As product and taxonomy changes occur, define and build the corresponding SKU structures needed to support the core pricing and Product Marketing teams, then maintain the pricing data and documentation as remediation and simplification initiatives are rolled out.
  • Maintain Research Reporting & Compliance. Operate and maintain the regular reporting ensuring data is current and accessible to research and leadership teams.
  • Maintain Product Documentation & Fact Sheets. Keep product fact sheets, focus forms, and product or program documentation accurate and up to date, reflecting the latest approved product details.
  • Support Sales Operations. Implement approved product configurations, pricing structures, and bundling rules into the Configure/Price/Quote (CPQ) system following established workflows. Maintain CPQ data integrity through regular audits and reconciliation with the product catalog, and support Sales Operations in resolving configuration issues and processing updates.
  • Product and Portfolio Management Process: Process owner for the portfolio management and product development process executed by the product management team.
  • Data standards: Set and enforce naming conventions, attribute schemas, unit-of-measure standards, and hierarchy rules—the “constitution” for how a product is described so that data is consistent whether it’s in the PMS, the ERP, the catalog, or a reporting dashboard.
  • Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Information Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PMI, Agile/Scrum) is preferred but not required.
  • 10+ years of experience in product operations, business operations, revenue operations, or a closely related function within a B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing product catalogs, pricing governance, or product information systems.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating product planning cycles, including cross-functional collaboration with Product Management, Sales, and Finance.
  • Prior exposure to Configure/Price/Quote (CPQ) systems (e.g., Salesforce CPQ, Conga, Oracle CPQ) and an understanding of quote-to-cash workflows.
  • Thought partnership and support for new technology scoping, implementation, and training.
  • Experience in a market research, data, information services, or knowledge-based B2B organization is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and pricing model management.
  • Experience with business intelligence or dashboard tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, particularly Salesforce, including reporting and data relationships.
  • Familiarity with product management or project tracking tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Monday.com, or similar).
  • Comfort with emerging artificial intelligence (AI) tools and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply AI capabilities in a professional setting.
  • Ability to manage and maintain structured documentation systems, including product fact sheets, pricing books, and tool repositories.
  • Exceptionally organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset — comfortable translating large volumes of product and usage data into clear, actionable conclusions.
  • Collaborative and relationship-driven, with a track record of building trust across diverse teams including Product, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Research.
  • Detail-oriented with a high standard for data integrity, documentation quality, and process consistency.
  • Proactive problem-solver who can identify operational gaps and design practical, scalable solutions.
  • Adaptable and intellectually curious, particularly open to learning new technologies and ways of working as the business evolves.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to tailor messages for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
