ABOUT US
Indie Campers is the leading campervan marketplace, on a mission to make road trips accessible to everyone. With a fully digital booking experience and a customer-first approach, we’ve hosted 300,000+ travelers from 170+ countries and delivered over 1M+ nights on the road.
We offer short-term RV rentals, long-term subscriptions, and the option to buy one of our campervans. We’re a fast-growing, tech-driven company looking for top talent to help build the future of road travel.

THE ROLE
We’re looking for an Operations Manager to lead daily execution across a group of 4–5 depots and approximately 300–450 vehicles.
Reporting to the District Manager, you’ll lead Operations Supervisors and their depot teams, ensuring vehicles are ready and delivered on time, teams have the right staffing and knowledge, and operating standards are consistently followed.
This is a hands-on, field-based leadership position. You’ll be based at the largest depot within your assigned group, travel frequently between locations, and serve as the first escalation point for critical operational issues.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
  • Lead operational performance across 4–5 depots, delivering service, productivity, quality, and cost targets
  • Manage, coach, and develop Operations Supervisors, setting clear daily and weekly expectations
  • Ensure vehicles are ready, safe, clean, and available for on-time customer check-ins and check-outs
  • Monitor daily and weekly KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions
  • Manage labor, overtime, scheduling, productivity, and operating expenses within the approved budget
  • Coordinate workforce coverage across locations, particularly during seasonal and operational peaks
  • Ensure consistent execution of SOPs, safety standards, compliance requirements, and people practices
  • Resolve escalated operational and customer issues and prevent recurrence
  • Implement new processes, systems, and district initiatives across assigned depots
  • Report performance, risks, and resource needs to the District Manager
  • Visit each assigned depot weekly or fortnightly and complete at least one frontline shift per month
  • Serve as the first escalation point when an Operations Supervisor cannot resolve a critical issue
  • Maintain availability during weekends and holidays when operationally necessary, including a Thursday-to-Monday working pattern during the six busiest months of the year
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • 5–8 years of experience in hands-on operations, ideally within mobility, rent-a-car, logistics, retail, hospitality, or another high-volume customer-facing environment
  • At least 2–3 years of experience leading teams, several locations, or one high-volume site
  • Experience managing labor, overtime, operating costs, scheduling, and location-level budgets
  • Strong understanding of KPIs, workforce planning, fleet coordination, and operational improvement
  • A visible, hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside frontline teams
  • Strong coaching, problem-solving, and performance-management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Professional fluency in English; additional local language capability is a plus
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience with operational or reporting tools
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to drive campervans
  • Availability to travel frequently between assigned depots and respond to critical operational needs
Bonus points for:
  • Fleet management or vehicle maintenance experience
  • Lean, Six Sigma, safety, project management, or similar operations certifications
  • Experience implementing operational change across multiple locations
  • Experience in highly seasonal or geographically dispersed operations
THE INDIE COMMITMENT!
  • A fast-growing, dynamic environment where you can directly influence operational performance
  • Career growth opportunities within Field Operations, including progression toward District Manager
  • Continuous training, development, and coaching
  • Competitive total compensation package, including a base salary of $70,000 and performance-based variable compensation
  • PTO, paid sick leave, health insurance, and additional benefits
  • Free road trips across Europe, North America, and Oceania
