GEO & SEO Manager

We're looking for someone who owns how Instawork shows up in search: classic organic search results, LLMs, and anything that comes next. 

This is a hands-on role, owning both GEO and SEO. You'll set the strategy, do the technical work, brief and shape the content, and be accountable for the pipeline. This is very much a role that requires a curious, resourceful builder. You'll report to the Director of Growth Marketing.

What you'll do

• Own Instawork's visibility and citation share across AI answer engines for our priority topics and in mid-funnel to bottom-funnel lead-generating conversations.
• Build and maintain dashboards that measure GEO performance.
• Structure content and site architecture for machine retrieval, including content coverage, schema and structured data, extractable answer formats, source authority, and freshness signals.
• Identify gaps in Instawork’s visibility across priority AI conversations and create or update content to close them.
• Build Instawork’s presence and authority across sources AI platforms reference, including review sites, industry publications, Reddit, Quora, and YouTube.

• Own the technical SEO health of our Webflow site, including crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, redirects, and site speed.
• Execute a high-quality backlink strategy that strengthens Instawork’s search authority. 
• Manage AI agents and automations that expand and refresh existing site templates while maintaining content quality.
• Research organic search opportunities and prioritize content and template builds based on potential impact.
• Build and maintain performance reporting in Google Search Console, GA4, and our BI stack.

• Educate the broader marketing organization on how we will succeed in AI search 
• Be ahead of the AI and GEO curve, both in how we appear in LLMs and how you operate using LLMs in your own day-to-day.

• 2+ years of direct, hands-on GEO ownership. You've been responsible for AI answer-engine visibility as a named part of your job, with results you can walk us through. Tell us what you tracked, what you changed, and what moved.
• Strong technical SEO expertise. You might not have been directly responsible for SEO but you supported an SEO operation or can demonstrate expertise. You understand site, site architecture, internal linking, crawlability, and indexation. 
• Fluency with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or Semrush, and at least one AI-visibility platform such as Profound, Peec, Otterly, or Scrunch—or a tracker you built yourself.
• You are an AI-first builder with experience in the new wave of platforms like Cursor, Claude, and n8n.
• A record of measuring success through pipeline and revenue, not rankings and traffic alone.

• Experience with programmatic or large-scale, template-driven SEO.
• Marketplace, B2B SaaS, or staffing/recruiting industry experience, especially in a business with local demand.
• Webflow experience.
• SQL, Python, or scripting experience for analysis and automation; comfort working with APIs.

For CA-based applicants:

• The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000.
• This position is eligible for equity in the form of stock options.

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location.  Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above.
