Security Engineer

Intelic builds Nexus: a command and control platform for unmanned systems operating in contested environments.

Our software coordinates autonomous systems across unstable networks, degraded GPS conditions, and off-grid deployments. We work directly with defense organizations and operators to build software that keeps functioning when conditions are at their worst.

We are looking for a Security Engineer to join our Product Adoption team — the team responsible for making Nexus deployable, reliable, and operationally ready in the hands of real users.

You will be embedded in the Product Adoption team, working alongside Software and DevOps Engineers to harden Nexus from the inside out. This team owns the final step between generic software and field-ready product: deployment pipelines, service orchestration, Windows installers, monitoring, and crash recovery. Security is woven into that work, not bolted on after. This includes:

• Helping engineering teams build secure-by-default systems

• Hardening APIs and authentication for externally exposed surfaces

• Obfuscating proprietary code to prevent reverse engineering

• Securing the software update server — the one online touchpoint in an otherwise offline system

• Building a secure telemetry pipeline so deployed units can send back logs without leaking sensitive operational information

• Hardening infrastructure and containerized environments

• Securing CI/CD and software supply chains

• Improving operational security visibility and response

• Operate off-grid

• Communicate over unstable links

• Run in contested environments

• Cannot rely on perfect infrastructure or connectivity

We are looking for an engineer with strong systems thinking and a pragmatic mindset. We value engineering capability and operational thinking over certifications.

You likely have experience with:

• Application or infrastructure security

• Linux, Windows and container security

• Cloud or on-prem environments

• CI/CD and DevSecOps

• Observability and detection

• Secure software architecture

• We build fast, iterate continuously, and solve difficult technical problems together

• You will work in a team with Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers, and validate your security work directly in the field with drone operators

• Security at Intelic is part of engineering, not a separate gatekeeping function

• The systems we build matter

• You will work on technology used in real operational environments with direct impact on European defense and autonomy capabilities
