In line with its commitment to providing quality support to its beneficiaries and fostering capacity building, IOM Cameroon offers internship opportunities to students and recent graduates. The Human Resources Unit in the Cameroon mission seeks to engage an HR Intern to support its day‑to‑day activities and gain practical experience in HR operations within an international and multicultural environment.
The HR Intern will assist in the following tasks:
- Provide support to recruitment processes, including vacancy announcements, interview logistics and follow‑up communication with candidates;
- Assist in maintaining and updating recruitment trackers and other HR monitoring tools;
- Document and file all stages of recruitment (vacancy announcements, applications, shortlists, interviews, communications) to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Support the organization and maintenance of personnel files, including both physical and electronic (e‑filing) records;
- Support the design and updating of monitoring tools (trackers, dashboards) to strengthen HR data management and reporting.
- Assist in preparing HR administrative documents such as contracts, letters and internal correspondence;
- Contribute to the tracking of staff attendance, leave and non‑staff administrative records where applicable;
- Support onboarding processes for new staff/interns, including preparation of documentation and orientation materials;
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the HR Unit;
- Ensure proper archiving and documentation of HR files in line with IOM standards;
Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or currently in final year of studies, or graduated within the last 12 months;
- Preferred fields: Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or related areas.
- Previous internship or academic exposure to HR or administrative tasks is an advantage;
- Experience with document management, organisation and office administration is desirable.
- Good organisational and time management skills;
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion;
- Basic knowledge of HR processes and administrative procedures;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and within a team;
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a multicultural environment;
- Proactive attitude and sense of responsibility;
