Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), UN Volunteers with at least twelve (12) months of continuous service in IOM, and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.
In close collaboration with national and local authorities and experienced Partners, in the context of the project 'Helios+: Comprehensive actions for the integration of third-country nationals into the labour market' in the Region of Central Greece" with MIS Code 6018673 under the Programme "Central Greece 2021–2027", IOM aims at promoting the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into the Greek society through activities for employability support, the provision of Greek language courses and vocational training, the support for independent living, including rental subsidies, activities promoting social cohesion and inclusion. Under the overall supervision of the National Project Officer and the direct supervision of the Regional Coordinator (Central Greece), the successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Oversee the assigned project team by ensuring smooth coordination and delivery of tasks assigned.
Ensure the accuracy and quality of messaging to beneficiaries contacting the project’s helpline, develop monitoring tools and organize the work of the helpline team members.
Perform general administrative tasks to support the project implementation in a timely and efficient manner, upon coordination with senior management and in full alignment with the Organization’s standard administrative procedures.
Develop the methodology and create tools, materials and standard operating procedures and oversee their implementation to ensure the applicability and monitoring of the project administrative procedures.
Support the coordination of flow of working documents and project deliverables in collaboration with Coordinators of project components.
Support senior management in the effective monitoring of the budget.
Prepare analysis and reports for the efficient use of resources.
Support senior management in the preparation of reports as required for budget preparations and audit.
Support the collection, verification, safekeeping, updating of data and Means of Verification, maintain and update the project archive.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
~1 min readHigh school degree/certificate with three years of relevant work experience, or;
University degree in finance, management and business administration, public administration or any other related field from an accredited academic institution with minimum one year of work experience.
Master’s degree in the above fields will be considered an advantage.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
At least one year of previous work experience;
Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment preferred.
Computer literacy in standard software applications;
Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles;
Valid driver’s license with at least five years driving experience an advantage.
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in English and Greek is required (oral and written).
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
