Job Purpose
This is not an entry level graduate position, candidates need to demonstrate strong proven experience in project finance, M&A or transaction services outside of summer internships.
As an Analyst / Associate in the Investment team you will work across the various infrastructure funds managed by InfraRed. Your role includes supporting in the origination and execution of greenfield and brownfield infrastructure transactions. You will be based in London and working primarily on investment opportunities in Europe and may be required to travel to other offices to provide support on transactions in other target regions.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Market research: participate in the conduct of comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, risks and the overall economic environment relevant to infrastructure investments as well as competitors’ analysis.
- Investment appraisal: Supporting the investment team through viability assessments, development of business plans, financial models and conducting sensitivity analyses.
- Deal structuring: assisting with the formation of consortiums and appointments of advisors, assisting with the day-to-day tasks (organization of meetings, structuration of agendas, taking of minutes, management of budget) as well as involvement in due diligence workstreams and provision of analytical support during negotiations.
- Presentation: Assisting in preparation of presentations to internal committees or external parties.
- Internal processes: Lead all internal transaction processes through efficient collaboration with colleagues from various functions such are risk and compliance
Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledgeable about the infrastructure industry (sectors, markets, participants, trends) with at least 24+ months experience from project finance, M&A or transaction services.
- Familiarity with corporate finance and project finance concepts is required.
- Strong quantitative skills and proficiency with financial modeling is required.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to details
- Able to synthesize complex matters effectively and concisely
- Able to grasp the key commercial drivers in relation to existing assets and new transactions, including what the key drivers are for value enhancement
- Able to manage involvement in a number of simultaneous initiatives, deliver work to agreed deadlines, and work well with a variety of individuals across a complex and evolving business
- Fluency in an additional European language is strongly preferred (French, German, or Spanish particularly)
