We are seeking a competent and experienced Secondary Greek Language Teacher to join our Middle Years Programme (MYP) team.
The ideal candidate will deliver engaging Greek language lessons aligned with the MYP framework, fostering a love for language and culture while supporting students' development in communication and critical thinking.
Responsibilities:
Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Greek language lessons for MYP students, integrating the IB philosophy and MYP framework.
- Develop engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote language acquisition, comprehension, and cultural appreciation.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
Student Assessment and Feedback:
- Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with MYP objectives.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to students to support their language development and overall growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Work collaboratively with MYP teachers and coordinators to ensure horizontal and vertical alignment of the curriculum.
- Participate in regular planning meetings, MYP training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary units of inquiry by integrating Greek language and culture into broader themes.
Classroom and Learning Environment:
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and a love of learning.
- Use a variety of resources, including technology, to enhance language learning and engagement.
Other:
- Participate in a wider school community activities and committees .
- Organise and facilitate extracurricular activities, clubs, other events to further engage students in the arts beyond the classroom, including field trips.
- Stay updated on current trends, techniques, and best practices in art education.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the growth of the arts department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Greek Language is a must.
- Teaching certification or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- Experience teaching Greek to secondary students.
- Enthusiasm for Greek language and culture, and the ability to inspire students.
- Positive attitude to challenging situations and tasks.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Fluency in English Language.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday/ 8:00 - 16:00.
Recruitment process:
- Panel online interview including Secondary Principal, Primary Greek Language Coordinator and Employee Success Manager (30 minutes).
- Online interview with the Head of School (30 minutes).
