Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some after hours
Job Summary: The Associate Creative Media Producer designs and produces low-complexity creative multimedia programming under close supervision. Assists other Creative Media Producers.
Additional Department Summary: The Associate Creative Media Producer will write, shoot, edit, produce, field direct and creatively execute news promos, topicals commercials, station campaigns and other marketing projects. Work with the Creative Services Producer through the process of concepting, executing, and delivering promos, graphic elements, behind-the-scenes promos and vignettes, and a wide variety of on-air and digital deliverables. Interacts with external and internal customers, including clients, account executives and the news department.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in fine arts, broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, journalism, or graphic design; OR associate's degree fine arts, broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, journalism, or graphic design and two (2) years of broadcast or multimedia writing, production, and/or direction experience; OR a high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of broadcast or multimedia writing, production, and/or direction experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience with video and editing production equipment. Ability to work independently, strong organizational and time management skills, and demonstrated success in working as part of a creative team are essential. Experience as a researcher, writer, production assistant, or videographer/editor in a broadcast or multimedia production environment. Ability to travel extensively, work after hours, weekends and holidays as necessary. Ability to lift, handle, and maneuver tools, materials and supplies of the job up to 50 pounds.
