OtherSystems Integration Engineer

This senior engineering role focuses on integrating enterprise applications and services within complex, security-sensitive IT environments.
You will design and implement secure, resilient, and scalable integrations across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid architectures.
A major focus is supporting Zero Trust strategies through identity, access, networking, and application integration solutions.
You will work across diverse technology stacks, collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to solve complex integration challenges.
The role combines hands-on engineering with architecture, technical leadership, troubleshooting, and security compliance responsibilities.
Your work will support critical federal, intelligence, and defense missions where reliability, security, and interoperability are essential.
The position is fully remote, with periodic travel and collaboration across distributed teams.

Develop integration strategies, patterns, and reference architectures that support enterprise Zero Trust security objectives.
Design solutions that align with security standards, compliance frameworks, and best practices, including Zero Trust, NIST, and FISMA.
Document system integration workflows, data flows, dependencies, architectures, and technical requirements.
Configure, deploy, and integrate enterprise applications, APIs, middleware, and supporting services across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
Implement secure authentication and authorization flows using IAM and ICAM technologies such as Okta and Microsoft Active Directory/Entra ID.
Build and maintain integrations between identity providers, network security tools, IT service management systems, data stores, and enterprise services.
Apply integration protocols and standards including SAML, OIDC, SCIM, LDAP, REST, and SOAP to enable secure interoperability.
Integrate applications and services across major cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle environments.
Troubleshoot complex integration issues and provide escalation support for challenging system interactions.
Embed appropriate security controls into integration architectures to satisfy enterprise, federal, and industry requirements.
Support audit, compliance, and monitoring activities by preparing technical documentation and supporting evidence.
Provide technical leadership, prioritize competing initiatives, and drive outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex IT challenges and improve the security, resilience, and scalability of enterprise solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; additional professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
10+ years of relevant experience, with 15+ years preferred.
Demonstrated experience designing, building, deploying, and integrating enterprise-class applications and services.
Strong systems integration background, including experience with APIs, middleware, identity solutions, and enterprise security architectures.
Strong knowledge of networking, authentication, authorization, firewalls, and enterprise security practices.
Hands-on experience deploying applications and services across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle environments.
Experience with IAM/ICAM technologies and secure identity integration patterns.
Knowledge of protocols and technologies such as SAML, OIDC, SCIM, LDAP, REST, and SOAP.
Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and familiarity with NIST and FISMA security frameworks.
Active SECRET security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges.
Excellent written, verbal, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to prioritize work and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams.
Experience supporting federal or Department of War customers is preferred.
