This role will oversee revenue accounting for a consolidated organization, ensuring accurate, timely recognition and reconciliation across billing, accounting, clinical, and banking systems. You will serve as the primary subject matter expert for revenue-related reporting, accounting questions, and complex transactions. The position combines technical accounting expertise with data analysis, reporting automation, and cross-functional partnership. You will work closely with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Product, and Technology teams to strengthen processes and improve revenue visibility. The role also offers significant ownership over reporting, forecasting, reconciliation, and internal controls in a fast-paced environment. This is an opportunity to bring structure and insight to a critical financial function while supporting scalable business operations.

Serve as the primary point of contact for revenue accounting questions, analysis, and reporting across the organization.
Manage revenue recognition activities for the consolidated business, including monthly revenue and implicit price concession entries and related general ledger reconciliations.
Automate and improve reporting for revenue, accounts receivable, and implicit price concessions using tools such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
Regularly reconcile charges and collections between billing, electronic health record, accounting, and banking systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Prepare technical accounting memoranda related to accounting guidance, policies, and non-standard transactions.
Develop, document, and continuously improve revenue accounting processes, procedures, and controls.
Review and interpret payer contracts to determine revenue recognition and accounting implications.
Audit pay-rate data used in billing and revenue reporting to ensure alignment between commercial contracts, billing activity, and revenue recognition.
Monitor and report accounts receivable days outstanding by payer and collaborate with Revenue Cycle teams to resolve payer-specific issues and reconciliation differences.
Partner with Finance to improve payer-specific revenue forecasting and provide meaningful insights into revenue trends.
Monitor and regularly report on cash collections and related financial activity.
Take ownership of additional accounting and finance initiatives as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
8+ years of combined experience in revenue accounting, finance, or closely related functions.
Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles, particularly ASC 606.
Proven ability to research accounting literature and translate complex accounting issues into clear, practical conclusions.
Experience working in high-tech, software, healthcare technology, or similarly data-intensive environments.
Strong analytical capabilities, including experience working with large datasets and identifying trends using Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and advanced Excel capabilities.
Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy when working with financial data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across Finance, Revenue Cycle, Product, Technology, and other functions.
