This role offers the opportunity to shape advanced computer science education for highly motivated students and help develop the next generation of problem solvers. As a senior curriculum developer, you will lead the creation and refinement of full courses and substantial educational content. You will combine strong computer science expertise with exceptional writing, editing, and instructional design skills to turn complex concepts into engaging learning experiences. The position also involves mentoring junior curriculum developers, reviewing their work, and serving as a strategic content partner across the team. Student performance data, teacher feedback, and stakeholder input will inform continuous improvement of the curriculum. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced educator and content developer who is passionate about rigorous, creative, and impactful computer science education.

Outline and develop new computer science courses and other educational materials, taking ownership of substantial content scopes.
Improve existing courses and materials using student performance data, student feedback, teacher feedback, and stakeholder input.
Lead and oversee the work of junior curriculum developers collaborating on assigned projects.
Review curriculum outlines and educational materials created by other developers and provide clear, constructive feedback.
Incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders to strengthen content quality and effectiveness.
Participate in teacher training and contribute to the development of training materials when relevant.
Support the onboarding, training, mentoring, and professional development of interns and junior curriculum developers.
Serve as a consultant and strategic partner to team members on computer science curriculum and content development.
Communicate proactively about project status, potential roadblocks, and expected timelines, while accurately estimating content creation requirements.
Develop a strong understanding of students, teachers, and customers, including through teaching courses when relevant.
Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, continuous learning, and high-quality educational content.
Develop original computer science problems, puzzles, and learning activities that challenge and engage students.
Complete additional curriculum development and team responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
3–5 years of experience teaching computer science and/or developing advanced or highly advanced computer science educational materials.
Significant experience working with K-12 students is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of the needs, learning styles, and expectations of students within the target audience and the teachers delivering the curriculum.
Strong computer science subject-matter expertise and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging, and accessible educational content.
Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to make thoughtful cost-benefit decisions when developing educational materials.
Strong understanding of purchasers’ needs and expectations.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to proactively collaborate with project stakeholders.
Strong creativity and demonstrated ability to develop original problems, puzzles, and educational activities.
Ability to seek, receive, and effectively apply feedback.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple content-development priorities and timelines.
