This role sits at the heart of the systems that support post-trade operations within a modern financial services environment. You will design, build, and evolve reliable distributed systems that enable clearing, settlement, securities finance, and new financial product capabilities. Much of the work happens behind the scenes, but it is essential to the daily operation of brokerage infrastructure and financial markets. You will own projects from initial concept through deployment, working through ambiguity and focusing on practical, meaningful outcomes. The position offers significant technical ownership, close collaboration across teams, and opportunities to influence both systems and engineering practices. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to work on high-impact financial infrastructure in a globally distributed, remote environment.

Own software projects from ideation through deployment, translating broad business or technical goals into practical systems and solutions.
Design and build reliable distributed systems that support clearing, settlement, securities finance, and new financial product offerings.
Develop infrastructure and integrations that enable new products, revenue opportunities, and capabilities within financial services.
Improve existing systems by identifying meaningful opportunities to increase reliability, maintainability, performance, and operational effectiveness.
Take responsibility for the long-term evolution and scalability of systems, considering both immediate requirements and future business needs.
Collaborate with engineers and colleagues across teams to understand requirements, resolve ambiguity, and deliver effective solutions.
Participate in an on-call rotation and help maintain the reliability and operational health of critical systems.
Investigate and resolve production issues, taking ownership of problems regardless of where the underlying code originated.
Apply sound engineering judgment by distinguishing important architectural decisions from areas that can evolve as more information becomes available.
Design and implement well-structured RESTful APIs and evaluate existing interfaces for quality and effectiveness.
Contribute to technical decisions and help shape engineering practices, systems, and priorities through constructive collaboration.
Continuously improve operational processes and eliminate recurring issues that create unnecessary friction for engineering teams.
Learn and apply domain knowledge related to financial markets, clearing, settlement, securities finance, and brokerage infrastructure.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience building reliable and distributed software systems.
Strong practical experience with Go, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.
Solid foundational understanding of computer systems, networking, databases, distributed systems, and how these systems behave under real-world conditions.
Experience designing high-quality RESTful APIs and identifying weaknesses in API design.
Ability to independently lead projects from definition through implementation and deployment, including navigating ambiguous requirements and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
Strong sense of ownership and accountability for both individual work and team-level outcomes.
Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions, balancing long-term architecture with business priorities and available information.
Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity, with a willingness to investigate unfamiliar areas rather than rely on assumptions.
Ability to adapt when new information changes the direction of a project and focus on the outcomes that matter most.
Experience working in startup or fast-moving environments where priorities can evolve according to business and market needs.
Willingness to challenge ideas constructively while remaining open to decisions that differ from your preferred approach.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to building systems that can scale and evolve over time.
Nice-to-have experience in securities clearing and settlement or securities finance.
Additional experience with gRPC, Protobuf, Temporal, Grafana, Kafka or Redpanda, Helm, and Docker is beneficial.
Serious appreciation for the responsibility involved in building systems that support financial services and handle transactions involving customers' money.
