Senior Software Engineer - Core Platform (Ruby/Rails)

This is a senior engineering role focused on building and scaling foundational platform capabilities for a growing cybersecurity product suite.
You’ll own complex projects end to end, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and rollout.
The role spans backend, frontend, databases, infrastructure, and external integrations, giving you broad technical ownership.
You’ll work primarily with Ruby on Rails while contributing to modern frontend experiences and large-scale platform systems.
Your work will directly support critical capabilities such as authentication, onboarding, notifications, APIs, and the overall user experience.
You’ll also help shape engineering practices through technical leadership, mentoring, code reviews, pairing, and thoughtful architectural decisions.
This is a fully remote environment where strong collaboration, ownership, maintainability, and practical problem-solving are highly valued.

• 8+ years of professional experience developing complex and scalable software products.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, with a strong focus on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Demonstrated full-stack development experience, including JavaScript, CSS, and modern Rails frontend technologies such as Stimulus, Turbo, and Hotwire.
• Strong knowledge of Linux-based infrastructure, relational and analytical databases such as PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, and integrations with external APIs.
• Proven ability to take complex epics or initiatives and translate them into clear milestones, actionable stories, and executable engineering plans.
• Experience working collaboratively in Agile environments, including pairing, code reviews, mentoring, and iterative delivery.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to independently navigate complex technical challenges and make sound engineering decisions.
• Proactive and responsible approach to AI-assisted software development, with the ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and code quality while maintaining appropriate engineering judgment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a distributed engineering team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with AWS cloud environments is preferred.
• Experience working within a Ruby on Rails monolith is a plus.
• Interest in building reusable platform capabilities and improving developer and customer experiences is advantageous.
• Familiarity or eagerness to work with Tailwind UI is helpful.
