This is an early-career infrastructure role supporting the reliable operation of enterprise IT systems in a remote environment.
You’ll gain hands-on experience across Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, monitoring, backups, patching, and cloud technologies.
Working alongside experienced infrastructure and engineering professionals, you’ll help maintain secure and dependable technology platforms.
The role combines day-to-day systems administration with opportunities to contribute to infrastructure projects and acquisition integrations.
You’ll troubleshoot routine technical issues, maintain accurate documentation, and follow established operational procedures and runbooks.
As your technical skills develop, you’ll take on increasing responsibility and progress toward more advanced systems administration work.

Support Windows Server environments and enterprise infrastructure systems, including provisioning, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning.
Perform routine systems administration and maintenance using approved technical procedures, runbooks, and change-management processes.
Support virtualization platforms and virtual-machine lifecycle activities under the guidance of senior infrastructure engineers.
Monitor infrastructure dashboards, validate alerts, review backup results, document exceptions, and escalate failures appropriately.
Execute routine server patching during established maintenance windows and validate system availability following maintenance activities.
Perform routine Active Directory administration, including user, computer, group, and organizational-unit maintenance.
Assist with DNS, DHCP, certificate tracking, service-account administration, and other core infrastructure services.
Investigate routine infrastructure incidents and service requests, documenting troubleshooting steps, findings, and resolutions within the IT service management platform.
Escalate complex, high-risk, or business-impacting issues to the appropriate technical owners.
Create and maintain knowledge articles, checklists, technical documentation, and operating procedures.
Participate in operational triage, cross-training, continual-improvement initiatives, and approved maintenance activities.
Support infrastructure, migration, and acquisition-integration projects through discovery, inventory validation, readiness reviews, data collection, cutover validation, and post-change monitoring.

Requirements

High school diploma plus up to four years of relevant IT support or infrastructure experience.
Two years of college coursework, technical training, or trade-school education in information technology, computer systems, networking, cybersecurity, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
Ability to troubleshoot workstations, operating systems, software, and basic infrastructure services.
Ability to follow technical procedures, manage assigned tasks, work within established processes, and maintain accurate documentation.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong organization, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and develop progressively toward greater technical independence.
Commitment to following information-security policies, procedures, and operational best practices.
Previous internship, help desk, desktop support, laboratory, or junior systems administration experience is helpful.
Exposure to Windows Server, virtualization, backup, monitoring, or patch-management tools is preferred.
Introductory PowerShell or other scripting experience is a plus.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 administration is beneficial.
Entry-level IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or similar credentials are valued.
Experience creating technical documentation or support procedures is preferred.
