The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio is searching for a Procurement Quality Control Specialist to provide procurement, logistics, inventory management support, and quality control oversight.

Responsibilities

→Supports and facilitates activities relating to procurement, logistics, inventory, and quality control.

→Assists with procurement to expedite the process of getting information from vendors.

→Works with engineers to get Purchase Requisitions (PRs) submitted quickly.

→Works with vendors, engineers, and buyers to review quotes ensuring they meet all specifications.

→Performs technical writing and ensures the quality, accuracy, and integrity of all technical documentation, reports, and deliverables comply with NASA standards, project plans, and policies.

→Responsible for maintaining building access records and tracking access requests.

→Coordinates logistics, such as, movement of equipment within or between facilities and maintenance of hardware records including flight hardware, engineering unit hardware, test hardware, tools, and supplies.

→Manages inventory of tools, hardware, and resources used within the facility.

→Troubleshoots and resolves logistics or inventory related issues.

→Interfaces with vendors, engineers, buyers, customers, and other organizations for facility maintenance and upgrades.

→Coordinates facility usage conflicts between customers.

→Monitors and enforces adherence to quality assurance, configuration management, and safety requirements throughout procurement, logistic, and inventory processes.

→Supports internal audits, facility readiness reviews, and quality assessments.

Requirements

A minimum of an associate’s degree and at least 6 years of related experience.

Excellent critical thinking and communication skills and ability to work well within a large team and direct personnel as required.

Knowledge of inventory and records management.

Strong skills with documentation, recordkeeping, and attention to detail.

Proficient in resolving technical and schedule issues in order to ensure deliverables are met on schedule.

Ability to assess complex issues, recommend resolutions to the team and management, and implement resolutions.

Proficiency in exercising discretion and independent judgment in evaluating potential approaches and solutions to critical problems and determining appropriate resolutions.

Ability to work independently with no or limited direction.

Proficiency in recommending nonconformities from established policies and procedures.

Experience and ability to comply with all NASA quality assurance, configuration management, and safety policies and procedures.

Experience performing quality inspections, reviewing vendor documentation, and supporting corrective action processes.
