About the Role

As our Course Development Quality Control Specialist, you'll be the final set of eyes on courses before they go live, making sure content, course information, and setup meet our quality standards. You'll also take ownership of our network partner courses, help troubleshoot course-related issues, maintain our course catalogue, and work across teams to keep everything accurate and up to date.

This role is about more than catching mistakes. We’re looking for someone who asks why, notices where processes could be better, and helps prevent problems before they happen. If you're detail-oriented, tech savvy, comfortable working with clients and partners, and enjoy improving the way things work, this role could be a great fit.

This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park, AB office.

Review and test online courses before launch to ensure they meet our quality, accuracy, and functionality standards

Manage course setup, including descriptions, keywords, subscriptions, landing pages, pricing coordination, and other catalogue details

Take ownership of network partner courses from initial quality review through setup, launch, and ongoing correspondence

Review new course submissions against BIS quality standards and clearly communicate required changes to partners and content owners

Maintain the accuracy of course development tracking sheets, records, and supporting documentation

Own the ongoing maintenance of our course catalogue, including scheduled reviews, course updates, and identifying content that needs to be updated or retired

Troubleshoot course-related issues and act as an escalation point for our Customer Experience team

Work with Course Development, Customer Experience, Marketing, Ecommerce, and Accounting to keep course information accurate and launches moving forward

Help maintain and improve the quality controls within our AI-assisted course development process

Identify opportunities to simplify, improve, or automate repetitive quality-control processes

Maintain clear policies, procedures, and documentation for course development and quality-control workflows

Have exceptional attention to detail and a knack for spotting inconsistencies others might miss

Can work thoroughly without losing sight of efficiency or spending time on details that don't meaningfully affect quality

Take ownership of your work and follow issues through to resolution rather than simply passing them along

Are naturally curious and want to understand how systems and processes work

Are comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, and figuring out what needs to happen next

Enjoy troubleshooting and digging into problems to understand what went wrong

Look for ways to improve processes instead of simply following them because “that's how we've always done it”

Communicate clearly and professionally, including when you need to deliver difficult feedback to a client or partner

Enjoy collaborating across teams and can keep multiple people and moving pieces organized

Are tech savvy, quick to learn new systems, and comfortable experimenting with AI tools

Hands-on experience in a detail-focused role where accuracy, organization, and follow-through were important to your success

Customer-facing experience and confidence communicating directly with clients, partners, or other stakeholders

Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software and systems quickly

Strong organizational skills with experience managing detailed information, records, or documentation

Comfort working with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Practical experience using AI tools and an interest in finding ways they can improve workflows and quality

Experience with learning management systems, online learning, or course development

A background in data management, records management, or maintaining large amounts of detailed information

Experience with technical writing, SOPs, policies, or process documentation

Experience proofreading, editing, or reviewing content for accuracy and consistency

Knowledge of instructional design or adult learning principles

Experience in health and safety, compliance, or another environment with detailed standards and requirements

Experience improving or automating repetitive processes
