- Perform sheet metal fabrication shop work
- Read and interpret complex ventilation assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches
- Lay out piece parts for fabrication and assembly
- Assemble piece parts according to specifications
- Use hand tools and shop equipment to complete assigned tasks
- Maintain quality workmanship while adhering to all safety standards
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a First-Class Sheet Metal Worker
- Experience with ventilation systems, foundations, bulkheads, shipboard furniture, and fabrication work
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, material types, datum lines, and reference lines
- Ability to work with fractional and decimal measurements using a ruler
- Ability to lay out and assemble fabrication components
- Experience working in a physically demanding environment
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to the shipbuilding industry
- Experience using electric drills, grinders, rivet guns, drill presses, press brakes, shears, and other shop equipment
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test
