Driver

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Driver with a group 3 license to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for clearing custom orders, collecting cargo from ports or warehouses, and ensuring timely deliveries while coordinating closely with both the logistics and delivery teams. This role involves operating large commercial vehicles and maintaining compliance with transport and customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive various company vehicles including heavy trucks (Group 3 license required) to transport goods between ports, warehouses, and client locations.
• Handle aspects of customs clearance.
• Collect cargo from ports, freight terminals, or warehouses and ensure proper documentation is in place.
• Work closely with the logistics team to plan routes, manage schedules, and ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
• Support the delivery team with offloading, customer coordination, and delivery confirmations.
• Maintain vehicle logs, customs paperwork, and delivery records accurately and up-to-date.
• Perform regular vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Comply with all transport regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist other departments on slow periods.

Requirements:

• Valid Group 3 driving license with clean driving record.
• Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience driving heavy vehicles, ideally in logistics or freight forwarding.
• Familiarity with customs clearance procedures and cargo handling.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends and public holidays as needed.
• Physically fit and able to assist with loading/unloading when required, lift bend, push, sit and stand for long periods of time.
