The Senior Manager, Employee Communications and Engagement plays a key role in shaping how Klaviyo connects employees to our mission, priorities, and the impact we create for our customers.
This role sits within the broader Communications, Workplace and Experiences team, working cross-functionally to help ensure employees understand where the company is headed, how their work contributes to our success, and the difference Klaviyo makes for our customers.
The Senior Manager drives the strategy behind internal storytelling and employee engagement campaigns that bring company priorities, cultural initiatives, and People and Places programs to life. Through thoughtful communications and engaging employee experiences, this role helps strengthen alignment, build connection, and reinforce the culture that makes Klaviyo unique.
We’re looking for someone who approaches internal communications like a builder. Someone who cares deeply about craft, isn’t afraid to experiment with new formats or ideas, and thrives in a fast moving environment where clarity, creativity, and ownership matter.
This is a senior individual contributor role that blends strategic thinking with creative storytelling, modern communication approaches, and strong cross functional partnership.
- Shape and evolve Klaviyo’s internal storytelling and employee engagement strategy in partnership with the Head of Communications, Workplace & Experiences.
- Lead the development of internal campaigns and communication strategies that help employees understand company priorities and how their work contributes to Klaviyo’s success.
- Create opportunities to connect employees more deeply with the impact Klaviyo has on our customers and the broader ecosystem we serve.
- Partner with teams across the People Team including Benefits, Learning and Development, Employer Brand, events, and employee engagement programs to translate initiatives into meaningful employee experiences.
- Develop communication approaches that support leadership messaging, organizational change, and key company moments.
- Create and oversee compelling storytelling across formats including written narratives, video, digital content, and live forums to help employees better understand company strategy, culture, and customer impact.
- Lead the evolution of internal communication channels and storytelling formats to increase engagement and clarity.
- Own and continuously improve internal communication platforms such as KHub so they serve as a centralized source of information and storytelling for employees.
- Partner across functions to align messaging and ensure employees understand how initiatives connect to broader company priorities and goals.
- Advise leaders and partners on communication strategy, narrative framing, and the most effective ways to reach and engage employees.
- Identify opportunities to simplify communication, reduce noise, and strengthen the overall internal narrative across the organization.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging messaging
- A strong storyteller who can connect employees to company priorities, culture, and the impact Klaviyo has on customers
- A builder who enjoys creating new programs, formats, and approaches rather than simply maintaining existing ones
- Comfortable working in a fast moving environment and navigating ambiguity while bringing structure and clarity to complex topics
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while also executing high quality work
- Excellent cross functional collaborator who builds trust with leaders and partners across the organization
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Someone who cares deeply about the craft of communication and the role it plays in shaping culture and alignment inside a company
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, human resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 8 or more years of experience in internal communications, employee communications, employee engagement, or a related field
- Experience working cross functionally with HR, leadership teams, and business partners on communication initiatives
- Experience developing internal campaigns, storytelling programs, or employee engagement initiatives preferred
