Reporting to Sr. Director, Games Family Services (GFS), the Sr. Cluster Manager, Games Family Venue Operations is responsible for ensuring the provision of Games Family services at all venues within the multiple clusters they are responsible for. The Senior Manager role will assist in the development and application of all Games Family plans, policies, procedures and operations at the venues they manage. In addition, the Senior Manager will help in the selection and training of all Games Family Venue Managers working within those clusters and will mentor, support, and supervise these managers both prior to and during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Finally, the Senior Manager will work closely and collaboratively with all members of the venue teams to ensure the level of service for the stakeholder group are met, including IOC/IPC groups, Dignitaries, Presidents and Secretary Generals of International Federation, National Olympic/Paralympic Committee and other key members of the Olympic and Paralympic Family.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Serve as an expert on Games Family Services (“GFS”) provided at multiple LA28 competition venues
- →Serve as the primary GFS representative at venue team meetings until the GFS Venue Managers are hired and trained
- →Work closely with such functional areas as event management, security, event services, Protocol, Hospitality and transportation
- →Develop, adjust and apply GFS policies, procedures and plans at the competition venues
- →Integrate any technology applications into the planning at the venue level
- →Prepare and delivery all GFS material for Event Operating Planning meetings and materials
- →Assist in the selection and training of all short-term GFS Venue Managers and venue-based volunteers
- →Develop and deliver training programs for GFS staff and volunteers, serving as a primary trainer
- →Ensure all venues receive sufficient focus, attention and support in collaboration with other GFS staff.
- →Manage all GFS operations at any events taking place prior to the Games
- →Support in the coordination of the competition venue central planning documents for GFS
- →Maintain and adhere to key milestones and internal planning and delivery timelines
- →Coordinate daily with Protocol and IOC on expected attendance
- →Oversee and manage a cluster of venues during the Games
- →Other duties as assigned
Requirements
~1 min read- 7+years’ work experience in an international, large event or multi-sport Games environment
- 5+ years direct people management experience, including oversight of full-time staff, contractors, or large volunteer teams (e.g., 10+ individuals)
- Experience leading cross-functional teams or multi-department initiatives
- Proven delivery of large-scale projects or events, including planning through execution phases
- Experience working with external stakeholders, such as government agencies, sponsors, or international partners
- Proficient with Microsoft suis particularly with Smartsheet, Excel and PowerPoint
- Oral and written fluency in English
- Training experience preferred
- Experience working in multi-lingual settings preferred
- Knowledge of other languages is a plus
- Diplomatic, service-oriented, positive, and resourceful personality
- Customer service oriented
- Excellent management skills
- A diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field
Requirements
~1 min read- Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
- The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
- The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
- Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
- Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000-$140,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
