Cluster Associate
LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions. If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application — we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.
Role Purpose
The Cluster Associate helps the Event & Venue Management (EVM) team convert venue plans into operational reality across a cluster of Los Angeles venues in the years leading up to the Games. You will produce the presentations, briefing materials, status reports, and task lists that keep venue deliverables moving. When the Games are on, you will run the Venue Operations Center (VOC) as the operational hub of the cluster — a hands-on role with wide exposure across venue and operations teams, and an accelerated view of how a modern Olympic and Paralympic Games is delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce the presentations, briefing materials, and meeting agendas that keep EVM cluster deliverables clear, current, and ready for decisions.
- Coordinate meeting schedules and drive follow-up actions to completion, so commitments the cluster team makes are tracked rather than lost.
- Maintain the status reports, deliverable trackers, and task lists that give the team an accurate, shared view of venue progress.
- Partner across venue, functional, and vendor teams to surface competing priorities and resolve them before they slow delivery.
- Manage the Venue Operations Center (VOC) throughout the Games, keeping the space maintained, presentable, and fully operational as the cluster's coordination hub.
Required Competencies
- 2+ years of experience in project coordination, data management, or operational support, ideally within a dynamic event, sports, or complex organizational setting.
- Extremely detail-oriented, with excellent organizational, operational, and program-execution skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully with varied audiences.
- Proven ability to resolve conflicts effectively when coordinating across diverse teams with differing priorities.
Valued Experience
- Prior experience in event planning or venue operations for high-stakes events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- Experience preparing executive-level presentations and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project-tracking or scheduling tools used to monitor deliverables and task lists.
What We Offer
- A role at the operational center of an Olympic and Paralympic Games, with a visible contribution to how a cluster of venues comes together.
- Broad cross-functional exposure across venue, operations, and leadership teams that builds durable, transferable coordination skills.
- Earned pride in helping stage a historic event, alongside a close-knit team and career value that outlasts the Games.
What This Role Means for the Games
The venues are where the Games happen, and the coordination this role sustains helps each venue open on schedule and operate reliably. Keeping the cluster organized and running the Venue Operations Center during the Games ensures athletes, fans, and teammates experience venues that simply work.
