The Sr. Manager, Language Services Venue Operations is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and operational delivery of Language Services across competition and noncompetition venues. This role oversees venuelevel execution, and crossfunctional alignment to ensure that interpretation and related services are delivered seamlessly throughout the Games. 

The Sr. Manager plays a key leadership role in developing operational frameworks, managing complex project plans, guiding staff and volunteers, and ensuring that Language Services is fully integrated into broader Games operations. This position requires strong strategic thinking, operational excellence, and the ability to manage large-scale, dynamic environments. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Language Services operational plans across assigned venues, ensuring alignment with overall Games-time strategies.  
  • Oversee project plans, timelines, and milestones, ensuring readiness across all phases of planning and delivery.  
  • Serve as a primary operational lead for Language Services at designated venues, ensuring service levels meet Games-time expectations. 
  • Partner with the Head of Language Services and Sr. Manager of Language Services Workforce Operations to define workforce models, staffing ratios, and operational requirements. 
  • Act as a key liaison between Language Services and venue management teams, Sport, Press Operations, Broadcast, Workforce, and other functional areas. 
  • Ensure operational integration with competition schedules, venue operations plans, and Games-time service delivery frameworks. 
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, readiness sessions, and venue walk-throughs to ensure alignment and issue resolution. 

Requirements

  • 7+years of experience in project management, event operations, workforce management, or related fields, ideally within large-scale or complex event environments. 
  • Experience leading operational teams and managing staff and volunteers in high-volume, fast-paced settings. 
  • Background in language services, multilingual operations, or interpretation/translation management is highly desirable. 
  • Prior experience with major sporting events, international events, or Olympic/Paralympic Games is strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional operational programs. 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. 
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing environments. 
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence without authority. 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Project Management, Business Administration, Communications, Event Management, or related field. 
  • Equivalent professional experience will be considered for candidates with strong operational or project coordination backgrounds. 
  • Advanced project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, Agile, Lean) is beneficial. 

Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA.  
  • Most work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.  
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment 

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000-$140,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
