Lorain County Commissioners

The Stormwater Management District partners with the Lorain County Commissioners, Lorain County Engineer, Lorain County Prosecutor’s office, 18 Townships, the Village of South Amherst, City of Oberlin, Village of Kipton, and Village of Rochester in 2025 to respond to local needs and federal regulations to develop and manage a cost-effective program to more effectively manage stormwater drainage and flooding issues throughout the County.

Under general direction, within the Community Development Department, assists the Community Development Director with all matters relating to Storm Water Management District and planning; maintains related to District expenses; serves as liaison on behalf of District; etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of bachelor’s degree in construction management, environmental studies, urban studies or related discipline

• three (3) years of experience in environmental management, urban planning, etc. with emphasis on storm water management preferred, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

• Experience with GIS software applications preferred

• Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver's license and maintain continuing eligibility for coverage under the existing vehicle insurance policy held by the County.

• Knowledge of rules and regulations related to storm water management and storm water control measures

• Knowledge of biology; chemistry; environmental sciences; basic math
