Sr. Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives

The Strategic Initiatives team partners across Lucid’s manufacturing, operations, engineering, and business functions to drive transformation and operational excellence. We lead critical programs that solve process bottlenecks, reduce downtime, and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions to support the company’s growth.
About the Role
~1 min readThe Sr. Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing complex, cross-functional programs that enable Lucid to achieve its operational and business objectives. This role partners closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and supporting teams to identify root causes of inefficiencies, streamline processes, and align systems and tools to maximize production readiness. You will lead initiatives that improve Lucid’s digital workflows, data integration, and system enhancements, delivering high-impact solutions for production planning, part tracking, operational efficiency, and manufacturing scalability. The position will provide risk tracking, data-driven insights, and clear program visibility for senior leadership to drive informed, timely decisions.
- Develop and manage comprehensive program and project plans, including scope, deliverables, schedules, resources, budgets, and key milestones.
- Drive cross-functional stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment, accountability, and executive-level visibility for strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate status updates, executive reviews, and communication of key metrics and risks to senior leadership.
- Analyze business and manufacturing processes to uncover inefficiencies, operational gaps, and root causes of delays or downtime.
- Collaborate across teams to design and implement scalable tools, digital workflows, and system enhancements that enable operational efficiency.
- Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, dependencies, and issues impacting critical programs.
- Support production planning, factory operations, part tracking, and other strategic workflows to ensure operational readiness and scalability.
- Deliver metrics, dashboards, and risk insights to enable data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of program/project management experience within operations, manufacturing, or a technology-driven environment.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, scaling organization.
- Strong analytical skills with experience identifying process inefficiencies and implementing systemic improvements.
- Proficiency in project management tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., JIRA, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills with experience influencing at multiple organizational levels.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and job-related communications.
Nice to Have

- PMP or Agile certification.
- Background in automotive, EV, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise data systems, ERP, MES, or other operational technologies.
Requirements

- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for handling tools, assembling components, and operating machinery. Requires fine motor skills and grip strength.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing 10–50 lbs. regularly; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. with assistance.
- Reaching and Bending: Routine reaching above shoulders, bending, and twisting waist, and squatting as part of process and tasks.
- Repetitive Motions: Continuous arm, hand, and wrist movements for tasks such as fastening, positioning, and installing.
- Climbing: Occasional use of steps to access different height level areas.
- PPE Expectations: Must wear required PPE (safety shoes, gloves, protective sleeves, eye and hearing protection) as per company safety standards.
Onsite presence required in Newark, CA to collaborate with stakeholders and support critical strategic programs.

Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.
