The Opportunity
 

We are looking for a Technical Consultant – Data Centres to play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of our data centre business. Working closely with our sales team, you will act as the technical authority across retail, wholesale and channel opportunities, helping design and position solutions that meet complex customer requirements.
 
This is a highly visible role where you will partner with sales, operations and customers to translate business needs into practical, scalable data centre and infrastructure solutions. You’ll be instrumental in shaping bids, leading technical responses to RFPs and tenders, and ensuring technical compliance throughout the sales cycle.

  • Partner with sales teams to provide technical pre-sales support across retail, wholesale and channel opportunities
  • Act as the technical interface between customers and internal teams throughout the sales and bid process
  • Lead the technical development of RFI/RFP and tender responses, ensuring accuracy, compliance and compelling solution design
  • Design fit-for-purpose data centre and infrastructure solutions aligned with customer capacity, performance and operational requirements
  • Produce clear Scope of Requirements (SOR) and Statements of Work (SOW) for customer deployments
  • Collaborate with operations, commercial and product teams to ensure solutions are deliverable and commercially viable
  • Support the development of bid response frameworks, templates and technical knowledge bases to improve response efficiency
  • Build strong relationships with design consultants, vendors and technology partners to ensure accurate technical input for bids
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data centre technologies, infrastructure trends and competitive solutions
  • Work closely with internal teams across sales, operations and service delivery to ensure successful customer outcomes
  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) and relevant industry experience (Essential)
  • 4-7 years industry experience in infrastructure, data centre, hosting or large-scale engineering environments in a pre-sales function
  • Strong knowledge of data centre solutions, colocation services and infrastructure design
  • Experience supporting technical pre-sales, bid management or complex solution design
  • Background in hosting platforms, network design, systems integration or technical consulting highly regarded
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with sales, operations and engineering stakeholders
  • Strong written skills for technical proposals, tender responses and solution documentation
  • Australian Citizenship is required no other working rights can be accepted.
