Main Purpose of Job
The Child Development Teacher provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to qualified children ages O to 3 years and their families. CDTs will also provide primary caregiving activities to the children as well as activities designed to promote their social, creative, physical and cognitive growth.\r\nThe Child Development Teacher supports the mission of Talbot County Early Head Start to nurture children, empower parents, and strengthen families by providing comprehensive, year-round early childhood and family development services to qualified families. The Child Development Teacher also supports the mission by providing caregiving and physical, emotional and learning support to children with special needs.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:� �Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\nExperience: One year of experience in providing information on health care and disease prevention within the community. \r\nNotes:\r\n1. Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting�on a year-for-year basis for the required education. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n
