Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to assist the Cecil County Health Department's mission of promoting, protecting, and improving the health of the county's citizens. The employee contributes as a Family Engagement Coordinator for families receiving WIC services in Cecil County.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:� �Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\nExperience: One year of administrative staff or professional work in a health care setting. \r\nNotes: \r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. \r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience in community outreach, family engagement, public health promotion, or related human services programs, with the ability to effectively connect with rural families, multilingual populations, immigrant communities, and other underserved populations.\r\n Strong ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with community organizations, including schools, hospitals, social service agencies, faith-based organizations, pregnancy resource centers, and other local stakeholders.\r\n Experience planning, coordinating, and promoting community events, educational initiatives, and outreach campaigns, including using social media and digital communication�platforms.\r\n Knowledge/experience of maternal and child health, breastfeeding promotion, nutrition education, or family support services, with the ability to communicate information in a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and family-centered manner.\r\n Bilingual or multilingual communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse populations and build trusting relationships with pregnant women, caregivers, and families with children from birth through age five.\r\n\r\n\r\n
