Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide program direction and management of the Developmental Disabilities Program at Kent County Health Department. This position receives managerial direction from the Health Officer. Responsibilities of this position include assigning caseloads, formulation of program policies, performing training and monitoring of staff, tracking fiscal receivables and Quality Assurance data, and receiving feedback from clients and community stakeholders.\r\n\r\n\r\nPer COMAR regulation 10.09.48.05E a Coordinator of Community Services shall have:\r\n\r\n\r\n A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a Human Services field; OR\r\n An Associate's degree with two (2) years experience in a Human Services field; OR\r\n Seven (7) years experience in a Human Services field\r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:� �Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\nExperience: Two years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. \r\nNotes: \r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. \r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including familiarity with person-centered planning, behavior support and daily living support\r\n Experience/knowledge of state regulations related to developmental disabilities services\r\n\r\n\r\n
