Introduction

We at the Potomac Center/SETT facility provide quality\r\nperson-centered support to adults with intellectual disabilities at our campus\r\nin Hagerstown, Maryland. Our aim is to partner with the community to help our\r\nresidents achieve their goals.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Potomac Center is a 62-bed licensed Intermediate Care\r\nFacility (ICF). This program focuses on using therapeutic interventions to\r\nempower residents as they learn the skills they need to successfully return to\r\ncommunity living.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment (SETT)\r\nProgram, located within the Potomac Center campus, is a 32-bed licensed\r\nForensic Residential Center that provides services to individuals with\r\nintellectual disabilities and court involvement within a safe and secure\r\nenvironment. The program provides assistance as they resolve their court\r\ninvolvement and work toward transitioning to a less secured environment. The\r\nSETT utilizes active treatment as well as providing evaluation, assessment and\r\ncompetency attainment education.\r\n\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

This position is a specialized DDA serving as the “Scheduler” for direct care of Potomac Center and Secure Evaluation & Therapeutic Treatment (SETT). This positions principal responsibilities would be to develop the direct care schedule, complete daily 24-hour assignment sheets for direct care, approve/deny leave requests, man the DDA phones for both facilities for call outs and adjust the schedule accordingly by finding adequate coverage, schedule resident guest visits, ensure appropriate staffing on all shifts and cycles, accompany trips off-grounds, tracking change of shift and cycle requests, tracking direct care leave balances, provide direct care with timesheet logs, notify direct care and supervisors of training needs and ensure adequate coverage, ensure fair and equitable overtime and rotation practices, and all other duties assigned to the scheduler.\r\n\r\n\r\nThis position will also be responsible for DDA responsibilities such as: helping each person served meet their personal outcomes; full compliance with applicable policies and procedures relating to both resident care as well as identified outcomes and measures in place in furtherance of same; provision of quality services in such representative areas as equipment utilization, data collection, personal hygiene, and programming; and matching newly-acquired skills to enhance growth and development of persons served per their Individualized Plan (IP) goals.\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:�Three years of\r\nexperience providing direct client services in a�developmental disability\r\nor similar behavior modification setting.\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:\r\n1.�Candidates may substitute the\r\ncompletion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university with 15\r\ncredit hours in health or human services, education or the behavioral sciences\r\nand one year of experience providing direct client services in a developmental\r\ndisability or similar behavior modification setting for the required\r\nexperience.\r\n\r\n\r\n2.�Candidates may substitute the\r\npossession of an Associate of Arts or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited\r\ncollege or university with a specialization in the treatment\r\nof�developmental disabilities in a mental health or closely�related curriculum\r\nincluding a supervised clinical practicum in a developmental disability or\r\nsimilar behavior modification setting for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n3.�Candidates may substitute U.S.\r\nArmed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in\r\nHospital Corpsman classifications or Health Care Specialist and Medical\r\nServices specialty codes in the health related field of�work on a\r\nyear-for-year basis for the required experience.�\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience developing schedules for multiple shifts.\r\n Experience approving leave and knowledge and experience\r\n with leave regulations and laws.\r\n Experience tracking and entering data.\r\n Experience utilizing spreadsheets to show trends.\r\n\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this\r\nclassification must possess a current certificate as a Nursing Assistant from\r\nthe Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland\r\n21215. Persons appointed to a position in this classification without\r\ncertification as a Nursing Assistant must successfully complete a Board of\r\nNursing approved nursing assistant training program and receive certification\r\nas a Nursing Assistant within six months from date of hire prior to performing\r\ndelegated nursing tasks. Appointees who fail to successfully complete this\r\nrequirement will not be retained in these positions.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Employees in this classification\r\nmay be required to successfully complete training in and maintain current\r\ncardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this\r\nclassification are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be\r\nrequired to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can\r\nbe reached.\r\n
