POSITION DUTIES

This position manages three work units that provide services critical to the operation of the Parole Commission. The four units managed are as follows: Warrant Unit This unit is responsible for processing all special reports submitted by DPSCS Community Supervision (CS) field agents for Commission review. It is also responsible for preparing, issuing and recalling retake warrants. NCIC Warrant Unit Ensuring that NCIC warrant data entry is completed on offenders not in custody, and confirming HITS from all judicial localities. Revocation Unit This unit is responsible for ensuring that offenders are promptly scheduled for preliminary and revocation hearings after identification. Records Unit: This unit is responsible for storing and maintaining control of all housing, parole/mandatory release supervision files as well as delinquent files. It is also responsible for maintaining all retention files for up to 5 years.\r\n\r\n\r\nJob duties include but are not limited to:\r\n\r\n\r\nPost-Release Unit Responsibilities\r\n\r\n\r\n Oversees the management of active supervision and delinquent files, and ensures that all files are accurately tracked when processed\r\n Ensures that orders to recall warrants are properly and promptly processed in order to avoid unnecessary detention of offenders\r\n Monitors unit activities and resources to ensure maximum efficiency\r\n Ensures that the NCIC warrant unit is completing warrants within the established timeframes\r\n\r\n\r\nRecords Unit Responsibilities\r\n\r\n\r\n Directs the daily operation of the Records Unit to ensure that files needed for parole hearings, correspondence, or file review are pulled and tracked in a timely manner\r\n Ensures that reports issued by Community Supervision from the DPSCS reporting system are retrieved and processed in accordance with the established procedures\r\n\r\n\r\nOther Duties\r\n\r\n\r\n Responds to attorneys, family members, and the general public on issues concerning the warrant and/or revocation process in a timely manner\r\n Prepares quarterly MFR report in accordance with the established timeframe\r\n Coordinates the transfer of parole violators being considered for HDU placement\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Please read all requirements before applying.\r\n\r\n\r\nEducation:�Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\nExperience:�Three years of administrative staff or professional work.\r\nNotes:\r\n\r\n\r\n Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.\r\n Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.\r\n Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Two (2) years of experience supervising employees in a Public Safety setting\r\n Two (2) years of�experience using Offender Case Management System (OCMS) & National Crime Information Center (NCIC)\r\n\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n
