Main Purpose of Job
An Occupational Therapist II is the full performance level of work providing occupational therapy treatments to clients who are aged or physically ill, have physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health diagnoses of State inpatient, residential or vocational rehabilitation treatment facilities or community based programs in clinics, schools or home settings. Employees in this classification are responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of clients’/patients’ occupational therapy treatment. Employees in this classification may oversee the work of Occupational Therapy Assistants and support staff.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
\r\nEducation:�� Determined by the Maryland State Board of\r\nOccupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Occupational\r\nTherapists.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist.\r\n\r\n\r\nNote:�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military\r\nservice experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy classifications or\r\nTherapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on a\r\nyear-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
\r\n1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a\r\ncurrent license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of\r\nOccupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue,\r\nBaltimore, MD 21228.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Employees in this classification may be required to\r\nsuccessfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary\r\nresuscitation training.\r\n\r\n\r\n3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which\r\nrequire the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will\r\nbe required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of\r\nMaryland.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
