We\r\nare seeking passionate individuals for the role of Food Service Supervisor I, so come join our team and make a meaningful impact on\r\nyouth and the community at DJS!\r\n\r\n\r\nA Food Service Supervisor I is responsible for the first\r\nline supervision of work in the food service operations at the facility. A Food\r\nService Supervisor I will coordinate and supervise the\r\nentire facilities’ kitchen operation including food receiving, storage,\r\nproduction, service and distribution of food in a timely manner. The Food\r\nService Supervisor I is responsible for ensuring the production and serving of\r\nmeals are in accordance with prescribed procedures and applicable health and\r\nsanitation regulations and standards. Employees in this classification\r\nsupervise staff engaged in food preparation and serving.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Food Service Supervisor I is an essential employee required to\r\nremain at work or report to work in emergency conditions.\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Two years of experience in food production or service for a large scale food service operation.\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:�\r\n\r\n\r\n1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in food production or service for a large scale food service operation�on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Candidates may substitute additional education in the area of food service management, nutritional care, institutional administration or a related area�on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n3.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military�service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Food Preparation and Serving classifications or Food�Preparation and Serving specialty codes in the Food Service field�of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nThe\r\npreferred candidate for this position may possess any of the following\r\nqualifications:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience with reports regarding food service\r\n operation.\r\n Knowledgeable in the food service policies,\r\n procedures and guidelines.\r\n Experience with the inspection of food service\r\n facilities, equipment, and operations to evaluate compliance with the standards\r\n of sanitation, quality and efficiency.\r\n Possession of a current\r\n ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification.\r\n At\r\n least one year of experience in food production or service in an institutional\r\n setting such as hospitals, child nutrition programs including school lunch or\r\n day care centers, nursing homes, universities or correctional facilities.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
