Main Purpose of Job
To receive, analyze and process applications for licenses issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Regulation including in such activity, assisting in the investigation and assessment of applicants for licensure (both new and renewal) as well as other licensing requests and matters so as to ensure that applicants and licensees are qualified for licensure under state law and will otherwise engage in safe and sound financial services activity in a lawful, honest, fair, and efficient manner. A Senior Licensing Analyst assigns, reviews and approves the work of and trains Licensing Specialists and Licensing Analysts. A Senior Licensing Analyst is a unit lead position that may, in management’s discretion, work remotely in accordance with the Agency’s telework policies. POSITION DUTIES
Duties of this position include but are not limited to:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAssigns,\r\nreviews, and approves the work of and trains Licensing Specialists and Licensing\r\nAnalysts, including providing advice\r\nand guidance to Licensing Specialists and Licensing Analysts in all facets of the respective licensing\r\nand registration processes.\r\nReviewing, investigating,\r\nand processing non-depository license applications and registrations, including reviewing and analyzing applications and\r\nsupporting information and documentation, requesting and reviewing additional\r\ninformation and documentation as needed, conducting independent investigative\r\nwork, approving and issuing or recommending the denial of all categories of\r\nnon-depository licenses regulated by the Commissioner.\r\nReviewing, investigating, and processing other\r\nlicensing requests and matters,\r\nincluding reviewing\r\nand analyzing those requests and matters and related information and documentation,\r\nrequesting and reviewing additional information and documentation as needed,\r\nconducting independent investigative work, approving or recommending the denial\r\nof licensing requests in all categories of non-depository licenses regulated by\r\nthe Commissioner, resolving or recommending next steps with regard to other\r\nlicensing matters.��\r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:���Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\nExperience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work. \r\nNotes:\r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30�credit hours from an accredited college or university for�one�year of the required experience.\r\n2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree�from a college or university for the required experience.\r\n3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included�regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required�experience.\r\n

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n
