We are seeking passionate\r\nindividuals for the role of Skilled Trade Specialist IV, so join\r\nour team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the community at DJS!�\r\n�\r\nThe Skilled Trades Specialist IV\r\nis responsible for the daily uninterrupted operation of the\r\nCharles H. Hickey Jr. Center and\r\nhandles maintenance duties such as HVAC, lighting, plumbing\r\nand preventative maintenance. The\r\nSkilled Trades Specialist IV may also handle new\r\nconstruction, installations,\r\nalterations, renovations, painting, repairs of facility equipment,\r\nelectrical work and grounds\r\nmaintenance/snow removal in order to maintain the facility,\r\nensuring the safety and security\r\nof the youth and the staff at the Charles H. Hickey Center... \r\n�\r\nSome key responsibilities of this\r\nposition may include, but not be limited, to the following:\r\n�\r\n●\r\nPlease\r\nenter key responsibilities \r\n�\r\n●\r\n. Personnel will be subject to respond to Emergencies after hour calls\r\n�\r\nSafely operate and perform work from elevated equipment,\r\nincluding step ladders, extension ladders, scissor lifts, and articulating boom\r\nlifts.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession\r\nof a high school equivalency\r\ncertificate.\r\nExperience: Five years of experience\r\nperforming skilled trade work in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC,\r\nlocksmith, masonry, painting, or welding work.\r\nNote:\r\n1. Candidates may substitute\r\nadditional years of experience for the required education on a year-for-year\r\nbasis.\r\n\r\n2.\r\nCandidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of\r\nCorporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities\r\nclassifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility\r\nsystems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate for this\r\nposition may possess any of the following qualifications:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Structural� framing, drywall installation and finishing\r\n Knowledge\r\n of understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings\r\n Building Maintenance�\r\n\r\n\r\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n2. Employees in this classification who perform electrical work and are assigned to facilities that mandate licensed electricians must possess a current license as a Master Electrician or other appropriate electrician license from a local board or from the Maryland State Board of Master Electricians, 500 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202-3651. \r\n3. Employees in this classification who perform work as a plumber must possess a Maryland Journeyman/Gas Fitter License. \r\n
