LOCATION OF POSITION

Main Purpose of Job
The purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of warehouse duties in order to supply and equip the Maryland Department of State Police and it's political subdivision with the appropriate supplies and equipment that are necessary to accomplish its mission.
POSITION DUTIES
Fill requisition\r\norders received from the barracks, divisions, and installations to meet their\r\nrequest for supplies, equipment and materials. This includes comparing packing\r\nslips with purchase orders, utilizing space for storage, and reviewing\r\nrequisitions for accuracy.\r\n�\r\nReceive goods and\r\ndevelops storage methods, including the allocating and arrangement of the\r\nstorage facility.\r\n�\r\nConduct routine\r\ninventory on all stock commodities and reconcile discrepancies.\r\n�\r\nAssist outside\r\nagencies by issuing warehouse stock and forms.\r\n�\r\nAssist with loading\r\nand unloading supplies into and out of delivery vehicles. When necessary, use\r\nMSP vehicles to make deliveries.\r\n�\r\nMake necessary\r\ntransfers and adjustments in the Financial Management Information System\r\n(FMIS).\r\n�\r\nAssists in the\r\nrequisition of stock commodity inventory replacement.\r\n�\r\nAnalyzes both supply\r\nand distribution operations and makes recommendations for increased efficiency.\r\n�\r\nAssist in maintenance\r\nof records of inventory control, supply issuance, and all other QMD related\r\nitems.\r\n�\r\nSupervises temporary\r\nand contractor warehouse employees. Assist in interviewing, hiring, and\r\ntraining new hires.\r\n�\r\nOther duties as\r\nassigned by Supervisory/Command personnel.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:�� Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\nExperience: Four years of experience in receiving, storing and issuing supplies, materials or equipment in a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility. \r\nNotes: \r\n1. Candidates may substitute additional experience as described above�on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics or unit supply field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:\r\n�\r\n1. Experience in receiving and\r\nprocessing requisitions for the distribution of supplies.\r\n�\r\n2. Experience in the\r\ndevelopment of storage methods pertaining to the allocation and arrangement of\r\nmaterials and supplies.\r\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees�in\r\nthis classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a\r\nmotor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a\r\nmotor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.�\r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
In accordance with Section 2-204 (b) (6) of the Public\r\nSafety Article, candidates for positions in this classification will be subject\r\nto an initial drug screening, a physical examination and a complete criminal\r\nbackground investigation, before permanent appointment can be made. A criminal\r\nconviction may be grounds for rejection of the candidate.�\r\n
SELECTION PROCESS
Only candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will\r\nbe considered for this classification. Therefore, it is essential that you\r\nprovide complete and accurate information on your application. Successful\r\ncandidates will be placed on the Eligible List categorized as BEST QUALIFIED,\r\nBETTER QUALIFIED or QUALIFIED and remain eligible for consideration for at\r\nleast one year from the date of examination. The list will be used by the\r\nhiring manager to select employees. The list will be valid for one year.\r\n
EXAMINATION PROCESS
The examination will consist of a rating of your\r\neducation, training and experience related to the requirements of the position.\r\nYou may be required to complete a qualifications supplement, or the rating may be\r\nbased on your application. Report all experience and education that is related\r\nto this position.\r\n
