Major League Baseball is looking for a Director, Workforce Technologies to lead the team responsible for the organization’s enterprise SaaS, collaboration, and internal workforce technology platforms. This role owns the strategy, roadmap, and operational health of the Workforce Technologies function, and manages a team of Senior Workforce Technology Leads, each of whom owns one or more verticals of SaaS platforms. This is a leadership and strategic ownership role: you will set direction for the team, develop and grow the Senior Workforce Technology Leads, represent Workforce Technologies to senior stakeholders across the organization, and ensure that the platforms under your team’s ownership are secure, well-managed, and continuously improving. You will also partner closely with the Managers of Technology Support, Corporate Infrastructure, and other Enterprise Technology functions to ensure a seamless end-to-end employee technology experience.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Manage, coach, and develop a team of Senior Workforce Technology Leads; set individual and team goals, conduct performance reviews, and build a growth path for direct reports
- →Set the overall strategy and roadmap for the organization's enterprise SaaS and workplace platforms (e.g. Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Okta, Zoom, Adobe), ensuring each platform has a clear owner, roadmap, and success metrics
- →Establish standards for platform administration, security policy adherence, integration management, and access control across the team; oversee software license optimization and drive regular usage/value audits
- →Act as a product owner for specific internal technology services for the organization. Gather end-user feedback and requirements to drive continuous platform improvements and feature enhancements
- →Guide Senior Workforce Technology Leads in their roles as internal product owners - gathering end-user feedback, prioritizing enhancements, and driving adoption and training campaigns across the organization
- →Own senior-level relationships with key Workforce platform vendors and service integrators; negotiate contracts and ensure SLAs are met, escalating and resolving vendor performance issues
- →Build and manage the Workforce Technologies budget, including software licensing, vendor contracts, and staffing; make resourcing recommendations to the Vice President, Enterprise Technology
- →Serve as the senior escalation point for major incidents or outages affecting workplace platforms, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication to stakeholders and executives
- →Partner with Technology Support, Corporate Infrastructure, AV & Meeting Technologies, and Program Management to align on shared priorities and deliver a consistent employee technology experience
- →Ensure platforms under the team’s ownership comply with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements; partner with Information Security and Legal as needed on audits and reviews
- →Provide regular reporting and status updates on platform health, adoption, and team performance to the Vice President, Enterprise Technology and other senior stakeholders
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s Degree in computer field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in IT or workforce technology, with at least 3 years in a people management or team-lead role
- Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring a technical team, including performance management and career development
- Deep working knowledge of enterprise SaaS and collaboration platforms (e.g. Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Okta, Zoom, Adobe, etc.)
- Experience with SaaS lifecycle management, license optimization, and platform governance at an enterprise scale
- Proven track record managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and SLAs
- Strong budget and resource-planning experience
- Excellent executive communication and presentation skills; comfortable working directly with senior leadership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical roadmaps
- Experience with Active Directory/Azure AD administration and scripting (e.g. PowerShell) is a plus
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across a complex, matrixed organization
