Description:
The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing servers and IT infrastructure while leveraging advanced technologies like AI and automation to optimize performance, enhance efficiency, and ensure system security. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective communication to resolve issues and maximize the value of IT and AI investments.
Responsibilities:
- System Management Across Platforms: Administer and manage diverse operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Linux and other platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability.
- AI and Automation Integration: Design, develop, and deploy automation scripts and AI-powered solutions to streamline repetitive tasks, improve monitoring, and enhance overall system efficiency.
- Proactive Maintenance: Regularly apply patches, updates, and upgrades to operating systems and applications. Configure and deploy new services as required.
- Server Administration: Install, configure, and manage physical and virtual servers. Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely security updates.
- Innovative Solutions: Research and implement cutting-edge technologies and automated approaches for system administration, monitoring, and incident response.
- System Monitoring: Utilize advanced tools, including AI-driven monitoring systems, to ensure hardware, servers, and key processes are functioning optimally. Analyze logs and address anomalies proactively.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and test intelligent backup solutions and disaster recovery plans that leverage automation to ensure data protection and rapid recovery.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including scripts and AI workflows. Generate insightful performance and incident reports using automation tools.
- Collaboration and Strategic Planning: Work with IT and DevOps teams to implement infrastructure upgrades, evaluate emerging AI technologies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Tier 1 Support and Troubleshooting: Respond to support requests, investigate technical issues, and deploy AI-powered diagnostic tools to expedite resolution.
Expected Skill Set and Qualification:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Certifications in automation, AI, or cloud technologies are a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in operating systems (Windows, Linux), scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python), and server hardware. Familiarity with AI frameworks and automation tools is highly desirable.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with end-users, stakeholders, and team members effectively.
- Security Expertise: Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and the ability to implement AI-based threat detection and response mechanisms.
