Nova 401(k) Associates is seeking a Retirement Plan Distribution Specialist to join our growing remote team. In this role, you will process retirement plan distributions and loans, communicate with participants and plan sponsors, and help ensure retirement transactions are completed accurately and efficiently.

This position is an excellent fit for professionals with experience in banking, credit unions, financial services, payroll, benefits administration, insurance, loan processing, mortgage servicing, or other detail-oriented operations environments.

Retirement industry experience is not required. We provide extensive paid training and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

→Process retirement plan distribution and loan requests from start to finish
→Review documentation for accuracy and completeness
→Prepare distribution and loan packages, including vesting verification for applicable plans
→Identify loan defaults and Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)
→Communicate with participants, plan sponsors, financial advisors, and recordkeepers regarding requests and status updates
→Research and resolve participant and client inquiries
→Maintain accurate records and workflow updates within internal systems
→Serve as a backup for participant service phone support
→Assist with data entry and other operational support functions as needed
→Maintain an understanding of retirement plan distribution and loan provisions
→Complete industry certifications, including NIPA's Distribution Administrator and Loan Administrator programs
→Stay current on cybersecurity, compliance, and company procedures
→Build strong working relationships with plan sponsors, vendors, and internal team members
→Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of professional experience in financial services, benefits administration, insurance, or similar detail-oriented operations role
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Strong time-management and prioritization skills
Experience with PensionPro, Corbel or retirement plan administration is a plus
