Supply Chain Manager - Automotive Glass

This position is based full-time at the Shelbyville, IN manufacturing facility, with regular presence required on the production floor across all shifts, including periodic off-shift, weekend, and holiday coverage to support a 24/7 operation. The plant environment includes exposure to manufacturing conditions typical of automotive glass processing, including heat (tempering/furnace areas), noise, glass handling, forklift and overhead crane traffic, and use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves, steel-toed footwear) in designated areas. The role requires the physical ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the facility for extended periods, climb stairs/platforms, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Office time is spent in a standard plant administration setting.

• Coordinate manufacturing operations through efficient and economic use of facilities, manpower and material to insure timely customer deliveries. Use top level capacity planning through the Sales & Operating Planning tools to define & communicate customer sales forecasts & required shift structures.
• Plan and supervise inventory control activities (including inventory accuracy, cycle counting & plant physical inventories). Manage inventory levels within established financial guidelines (including production build outs, engineering changes, obsolete/slow moving inventories).  Maintain part numbers within corporate proprietary inventory, shipping & financial systems.
• Manage inventory through non-value added and blocked stock stages as well as trapped inventory and set priorities for production planning.
• Manage packaging, freight, storage & forklift costs within budgeted levels.
• Maintain current knowledge of Health & Safety issues. Achieve company performance goals as established for Health & Safety.
• Develop and communicate planned stocking levels for products to O.E.M. customers, Internal customers, and Just-In-Time programs along with AGR products to ensure the plant operates at a “zero” delinquent level. This should be reflected in OTIF scores.
• Ensure that the detail operating plans and schedules conform to issuing requirements for economic production quantities such that operating variances can be minimized and in line with budgeted performance indicators (yield, uptime, flowrate, MMPP)
• Ensure the planning and ordering of direct materials for current & future production plans are carried out to meet the production schedule plans & customer requirements while working within the budget.
• Ensures appropriate supply of packaging to meet scheduled production requirements and administer rack repair program.
• Manage Storeroom to ensure stock levels support required min/max levels for spare and non-spare items. Ensure cycle counting program is in place to support audit requirements.
• Assure all proper paperwork accompanies all items shipped and received and ensures that all inbound materials are accurately received and promptly processed. Customer requirements for outbound shipments must be satisfied.
• Develop systems whereby excellent interpersonal relationships are maintained both within and outside the group.
• Develops operating systems for the improvement of: customer feedback, interaction with other functions/groups, internal communication between group teams.
• Responsible for auditing: safety systems, quality systems, & inventory control systems.
• Ensure internal ISO 14000 environmental management system compliance, TS16949 automotive quality management system compliance, and C-TPAT compliance to ensure continual improvement.
• Active participation in request for quote process and long-term planning when required.

• Bachelor’s degree required in Business or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years’ management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Supply Chain role.
• Strong communications and negotiation skills.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong computer skills

• Experience with SAP
• Experience with quality management systems
• Previous Tier One automotive experience

Core Hours:  Monday-Friday - start and end time will be flexible based on the role

Salary Range:  $130k-150k and will depend on experience
