As a Lending Operations Consultant, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end operational workflow of loan applications across pre-submission, post-submission, settlement, and construction progress payment stages. This role is critical in ensuring all applications progress efficiently, accurately, and within required timeframes while maintaining a high standard of communication and service delivery.
You will work closely with brokers, lenders, and third parties to coordinate loan applications from valuation through to settlement and post-settlement activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously while maintaining accuracy across all systems and documentation.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ordering and managing property valuations in line with broker strategy and lender requirements.
- Monitoring valuation bookings, inspections, and completion progress while proactively following up on delays or outstanding reports.
- Maintaining accurate valuation tracking registers and updating stakeholders on valuation outcomes and timelines.
- Acting as the primary post-submission contact point with lenders regarding application progression and outstanding requirements.
- Reviewing and managing lender requests for additional information, missing documents, and loan conditions.
- Liaising with brokers, clients, credit analysts, solicitors, and third parties to ensure applications progress efficiently.
- Tracking applications through submission, conditional approval, formal approval, and settlement stages.
- Coordinating loan settlements, including confirming settlement dates and ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately.
- Providing brokers with timely updates regarding application status, approval progress, risks, delays, and escalations.
- Managing construction progress payment requests, documentation, lender submissions, and payment confirmations.
- Following up with lenders regarding progress payment processing and inspection requirements.
- Maintaining accurate records, audit trails, and document management across internal systems and client files.
- Identifying and resolving issues proactively before they impact approval timelines, settlements, or client outcomes.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across workflows, systems, and operational processes.
Requirements
~1 min read- Previous experience in mortgage broking operations, loan processing, settlements, or lending administration is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the mortgage application lifecycle, including valuations, lender conditions, approvals, and settlements.
- Experience managing multiple loan applications simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise professionally with brokers, lenders, clients, and third parties.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential.
- Experience using CRM systems, lender portals, and document management platforms is preferred.
- Ability to proactively identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines effectively.
- Confidence working autonomously while contributing collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace is preferred.
- Honesty, reliability, accountability, and a strong work ethic are essential.
