Preferred - 2 years of peripheral vascular experience.
Required - Active Registered Vascular Tech (RVT)/Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) registration.
Registry through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Credentialing Agency or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
Knowledge of JCAHO, OSHA, ICAVL and other State and Federal guidelines.
Ability to assist patients in positioning and preparing for exam.
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the required job processes.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, working efficiently and calmly under pressure, and working without direct supervision.
Ability to maintain flexible working hours to include occasional evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Job Duties
Prepares, instructs and educates patients on procedures.
Performs diagnostic procedures.
Maintains accurate documentation and record keeping.
Maintains exam rooms and equipment assuring a safe and clean working environment adhering to OSHA standards.
Assesses situations, considers alternatives and chooses appropriate course of action especially in times of need or emergencies.
Participates in activities for professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
Performs other related duties as required.
