Oneworks is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong construction supervision expertise to join our team in our Dubai office and support a high-profile airport project in the region. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing and managing on-site MEP construction activities and ensuring the contractor's work complies with design specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.

✓Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline;

✓Master’s degree is a plus;

✓Minimum 15 years of total experience in mechanical engineering, including at least 5 years in airport projects;

✓Proven experience in construction supervision and site-based roles, specifically within the MEP domain;

✓Previous experience in leading engineering teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders on large-scale infrastructure projects;

✓Solid understanding of local and international mechanical codes and standards;

✓Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to guide junior engineers and inspectors;

✓UAE/GCC experience required;

✓Familiarity with BIM workflows is advantageous;

✓Familiarity with Aconex for project documentation and correspondence, and Proficient AutoCAD skills;

✓Excellent command of written and spoken English;

✓Ability to join within 1 month or less.

Responsibilities

Supervise and monitor the mechanical aspects of construction works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and relevant codes;

Manage and coordinate day-to-day site activities with the contractor, reporting progress, risks, and issues to the Resident Engineer and Project Management team;
→
Review and approve method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, and as built documentation;
→
Lead a team of engineers and inspectors; delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure timely completion of inspections and site-related tasks;
→
Participate in progress and coordination meetings; contribute technical expertise and ensure resolution of site issues;
→
Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are implemented and followed throughout the mechanical works;
→
Support testing and commissioning activities, ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operated in accordance with project specifications;
→
Maintain clear documentation of site activities, issues, and resolutions;
→
Ensure all safety protocols and site regulations are strictly followed.
