Patient Billing Specialist

We are currently seeking a Patient Billing Specialist to join our team and support the financial experience of our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes, insurance claim submissions, patient account resolution, and a commitment to delivering professional, accurate, and compassionate service in a fast-paced environment.

• →Maintains excellent customer service skills 
• →Maintains basic knowledge of medical billing terminology
• →Ability to verify patients’ demographics & insurance information    
• →Ability to interpret & explain an EOB 
• →Ability to explain the difference between a copay, coinsurance, and deductible 
• →Collaborate with patients to set up payment arrangements 
• →Prepare invoices and record payments 
• →Collect patient payment information 
• →Send receipts and/or itemized bills to appropriate party  
• →Other administrative support duties as assigned  

• At least 1 year of experience in medical billing.
• At least 1 year of experience working with EMR and ECW preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication, computer skills, and ability to pay attention to detail.
• Positive attitude that welcomes teamwork.
• Ability to multitask effectively. 
• Experience with medical billing codes and terminology.
