We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage heavy mechanical commercial projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate has 5-6+ years of project management experience in the mechanical or industrial construction industry, a strong understanding of union labor coordination, and a track record of successfully managing large-scale, time-sensitive projects.
Responsibilities

- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and timelines to meet client and company objectives.
- Coordinate pre-construction planning, project scope development, and contract negotiations.
- Identify potential project risks, troubleshoot challenges, and provide strategic solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and contractual obligations.
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
- Track costs, labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or safety.
- Forecast financial impacts and proactively adjust project plans to maintain profitability.
- Lead and direct union workforce, ensuring productivity and adherence to labor agreements.
- Work closely with field supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain strong relationships with trade unions, vendors, and suppliers.
- Ensure all labor activities comply with union regulations and company policies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Maintain regular communication and reporting with senior management, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Conduct client meetings, progress reports, and site visits to assess project status and address concerns.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, change orders, and project scope modifications.
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal mechanical construction codes.
- Oversee permitting, licensing, and inspection processes to meet regulatory requirements.
- Utilize project management software and construction technology to improve efficiency and documentation.
Requirements
~1 min read✔ 5-6+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the heavy mechanical, industrial, or commercial construction sector.
✔ Extensive knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and sheet metal systems, commercial construction, and union labor practices.
✔ Proven experience in managing large-scale projects ranging from $500K to $5M in value.
✔ Strong expertise in budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contract administration.
✔ Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
✔ Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
✔ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
